Storyteller

StorytellerNative peoples from around the world have long used verbal communication as a way of passing on tribal beliefs and traditions.  The recent history of the storyteller began with Helen Cordero in 1964.  When Hellen's grandfather passed away she wanted to preserve his memory so she decided to make a clay figure of him telling a story to the Pueblo children.  Since then storytellers have been made by Native American artists in the southwest.
