MARY MARTHA MIKLETON
Mary Martha
Mikleton was bom in Green Bay, WI. And raised
during her school years in Rockford, IL. She began her art
studies
at the Burpee Art Gallery. She attended Springfield Jr. College
and
U of I at Dekalb IL. Where she studied music and fiber art design.
In Rockford she worked for a major paint company
where
she matched and mixed colors. Using these colors in decorating
for
clients of industry, also produced helpful booklets for consumers.
After her marriage to David they moved to Kingman in
1969
were she raised two fine young men. She continued to take classes
to
enhance her skills. Needle work has always been part of her life
since
the age of 3 she was sewing and by 5 designing her doll clothes , from
there it went into all aspects such as needlepoint, petit point,
counted cross stitch
and fashion design all inclusive in fiber art.
She is a member of the Kingman Quilt Guild and the
AZ.
State Guild and American Quilters Society also the Southwest Longarm
Association.
Mary Martha has won and placed in many exhibits and
contests
through out the years.
Quilting and fiber art has always been a large part
of
her life and now she has owned and operated her own Atelier, were she
quilts
for people with new and old tops, does commission quilts and teaches,
all
by appointment only. She has cliental for her art work through
out
the United States, Canada and Europe.
