MCS Protected at Work by "Nose Patrol"

When I was working and extremely sensitive to scents, about 10 to 15 percent of the staff insisted on wearing them. This meant that about 85 to 90 people did not wear fragrances. Some of the people who wore scents, were the IN YOUR FACE! types, whose scents would carry through the building, whether they were half a building away (half a block) or not.

My "Nose Patrol" let me know when I could use the front elevators or the back stair well. I would have not have lasted as long as I did, without their help.

To submit info if you have experienced harmful effects from perfume:
EHN Petition about the harmful effects of perfume. The FDA Citizens' Petition has been filed by EHN on behalf of everyone whose health is harmed by fragrances. It was assigned Docket Number 99P-1340 in May 1999 by the Food and Drug Administration. It is still open, receiving letters and documentation. This petition provides the golden opportunity to write to the FDA about the harmful effects of fragrances and adverse events suffered because of fragrances used by self AND/OR other people. All folks have to do is to reference "Docket Number 99P-1340" and their comments will be tallied along with all the others the FDA has received regarding the petition to get the FDA warning message on labels of fragrances released to market without substantiation of safety. E-mail: fdadockets@oc.fda.gov Full contact information, analyses and complementary information available from EHN's page, www.ehnca.org/FDApetition/bkgrinfo.htm
