Industrialized, deodorized, volatized for my demise!
PARDON-MOI,  DON'T MIND ME
I'M JUST ALLERGIC TO THE 21ST CENTURY

Take me back in time where I'm away
From pollution's contribution to our modern day
Where doctors don't just look at me and scratch their head
And there aren't any flame retardants in my bed
And no-one at MacDonald's eats what I can't
Appointing me the ultimate renunciant
Where I can hide from the hydes to save my hide
Formaldehyde, benzaldehyde, pesticide, I'm paralyzed!

PARDON-MOI,  DON'T MIND ME
I'M JUST ALLERGIC TO THE 21ST CENTURY

Are you aware that in your hair
Is something that could knock me out?
I'm the canary of the future, ya that's what they say
Well if it's true I wish that I could fly away
I've got the right knowledge in the wrong world
Excuse me if I'm woozy and my words are slurred
I just keep on trying and I'm not dead yet
But Mister, could you please put out that cigarette?

PARDON-MOI,  DON'T MIND ME
I'M JUST ALLERGIC TO THE 21ST CENTURY

Oh Lord grant me impunity and give me immunity
So there can be some unity 'round here
One whiff of perfume and I'm history, I'm on Venus
It's adios amigos
I'll be O.K. when she goes
(Very far away...)

Greg says living in a room of aluminum foil is O.K.
But he's way into Sci-Fi anyway
Scott redefines and designs me walls of glass
I just shiver by the heater cuz I turned off the gas
And sometimes the blinded narrow-minded make me tense
That's when Stacy rises to take my defense
Against the Jimmys who think it's in my head;
I wish it were, there'd be a cure and it'd be easier than this!

I'M JUST ALLERGIC TO THE 21ST CENTURY
Bizarre Beds
Words & Music by Kim Palmer

I HAVE SLEPT IN SOME BIZARRE BEDS
SOME OF THE STRANGEST PLACES I'VE LAID MY HEAD
JUST LIKE DRAWING WATER FROM THE WATERLESS
IT'S HARD TO GET GOOD REST

Now I don't mean that quite the way it seems
You see I've got myself these hypersensitivities
And of all their million challenges the hardest job
Is finding somewhere to sleep that doesn't flip out my bod

I thought I'd be just fine inside my nylon tent
But oh the weird reactions that I underwent!
So with stainless steel foil paper covering my whole truck
You'd think I'd be real safe but I was outta luck

I HAVE SLEPT IN SOME BIZARRE BEDS
SOME OF THE STRANGEST PLACES I'VE LAID MY HEAD
JUST LIKE DRAWING WATER FROM THE WATERLESS
IT'S HARD TO GET GOOD REST

An aluminum foil room gave me some z's for awhile
But I guess the glass room didn't cuz my dreams were wild
So back into the bathtub oh so hard and cold
Where I slept for two more years until the house got sold

Then under Arizona stars and Texas canopies
On California porches, in New Mexico's deep freeze
Tried rooms of steel and porcelain and cots out in the wide open
Mylar covered mattresses, bare springs, futons, how wacked is this?

I HAVE SLEPT IN SOME BIZARRE BEDS
SOME OF THE STRANGEST PLACES I'VE LAID MY HEAD
JUST LIKE DRAWING WATER FROM THE WATERLESS
IT'S HARD TO GET GOOD REST

So tell me it's gonna be alright
Cuz I need somewhere that I can sleep tonight

I HAVE SLEPT IN SOME BIZARRE BEDS
SOME OF THE STRANGEST PLACES I'VE LAID MY HEAD
JUST LIKE DRAWING WATER FROM THE WATERLESS
OH I HAVE SLEPT IN SOME BIZARRE BEDS
OH YA I HAVE SLEPT IN SOME REALLY
WACKED  OUT, ODD, WEIRD PLACES...

Cedar Fever
Words & Music by Kim Palmer

She's got cedar fever
No-one can believe her
She has to stay inside her Airstream trailer sealed up tight
With her new state of the art air filter blasting day and night
And wash her hair and clothes six times
If she ever even steps outside

She's got cedar fever
You wouldn't wanna be her
Cuz she used to eat fun food and do fun things and be cool
Til asbestos, pesticide and renovations in her school
Gave her a new weird disease
And now she has a million allergies, like

CEDAR FEVER
IT'S A BIG YELLOW MESS
BUT EVERYONE JUST HOLDS THEIR BREATH
THROUGH CEDAR  FEVER
TIL THEY'RE PAST THE LAST BIG FREEZE
BUT BY THEN SHE'S ON HER KNEES, HER KNEES
HER CEDAR FEVER

She's got cedar fever
Just one more thing to heave her
Over the edge of normalcy into the twilight zone
Where she draws cartoons and listens to her latest books on tape alone
Read by the lady with a lisp
Well now she's put a whole new twist on

CEDAR FEVER
IT'S A BIG YELLOW MESS
BUT EVERYONE JUST HOLDS THEIR BREATH
THROUGH CEDAR  FEVER
TIL THEY'RE PAST THE LAST BIG FREEZE
BUT BY THEN SHE'S ON HER KNEES, HER KNEES
HER CEDAR FEVER

   Immunity whipped by whirling chemicals
      In a hurried world
A problem much more than academical
          For one worried girl, with

CEDAR FEVER
AND THE POLLEN IT SECRETES
HAS HER BOILING ALL HER SHEETS
CEDAR  FEVER
WHILE MOST PEOPLE ONLY SNEEZE
SHE IS CRAWLING ON HER KNEES,  HER KNEES,
HER KNEES, HER KNEES, HER CEDAR,
CEDAR FEVER
The Dispossessed
Words & Music by Kim Palmer

Lives are in the balance here
Homes and friends long gone
The brunt of jokes born out of fear
We somehow stumble on
But we're not laughing now

We live in trailers, tents and cars
There's little we can eat
And on our search for somewhere safe
We're poisoned in our sleep
So we're not sleeping now

OH CAN'T YOU READ THE WARNING SIGN?
THIS IS THE MODERN EPIDEMIC UNCONFESSED
WE'RE TRAPPED INSIDE A TOXIC TIME
WITH NOWHERE WE CAN RUN
WE ARE THE DISPOSSESSED
WE ARE THE DISPOSSESSED

A world more caustic every day
A future looking grim
For many yet to come who'll have
No place that they fit in
Just like we're not fitting now

OH CAN'T YOU READ THE WARNING SIGN?
THIS IS THE MODERN EPIDEMIC UNCONFESSED
WE'RE TRAPPED INSIDE A TOXIC TIME
WITH NOWHERE WE CAN RUN
WE ARE THE DISPOSSESSED

STILL REELING FROM THE CHEMICALS
THAT TORE OUR BODIES DOWN AND LEFT OUR LIVES A MESS
WE"RE CAST OUT OF THE WORLD WE KNEW
CAST OUT OF HEALTH AND DREAMS
WE ARE THE DISPOSSESSED
WE ARE THE DISPOSSESSED
   Leave a Light
Words & Music by Kim Palmer

It's been too long since I stepped through this frozen cloud
That separates the world from where I've been
But something from inside is slowly changing now
And whispering directions on the wind

LEAVE A LIGHT, LEAVE A LIGHT
LEAVE A LIGHT ON OUT THERE FOR ME
I WON'T LOOK BEHIND. I'M READY TO GO
LEAVE A LIGHT, LEAVE A LIGHT
LEAVE A LIGHT FOR THIS REFUGEE
SO I CAN FIND MY WAY BACK HOME

Now I have remained faithful without following
And the years I've given you have left their scars
But all my troubles touch me without darkening
That other moon that's burned against my heart

LEAVE A LIGHT, LEAVE A LIGHT
LEAVE A LIGHT ON OUT THERE FOR ME
I WON'T LOOK BEHIND. I'M READY TO GO
LEAVE A LIGHT, LEAVE A LIGHT
LEAVE A LIGHT FOR THIS REFUGEE
SO I CAN FIND MY WAY BACK HOME

A ways to fly but travelled by the grounded
My place and I will wrap my life around it

LEAVE A LIGHT, LEAVE A LIGHT
LEAVE A LIGHT ON OUT THERE FOR ME
I WON'T LOOK BEHIND. I'M READY TO GO
LEAVE A LIGHT, LEAVE A LIGHT
LEAVE A LIGHT FOR THIS REFUGEE
SO I CAN FIND MY WAY BACK HOME
SO I CAN FIND MY WAY BACK HOME
